because Mew, Mew needs you too...This cute little gem found his way to a feral colony I feed at my full time job. At first I thought he was extended feral family but realized he was friendly. All you had to do was yell, "Mew, Mew, Meow, Meow," and he would come running for pets! No family has claimed him and he is looking for his fur-ever home.
Mew is a very happy male cat of only two years old. He is shy at first but quickly turns into a complete velcro cat who won't leave you alone. If you don't give him enough attention he will grab your legs or hands to force you to pet him. Despite being full grown he is 100% kitten personality and loves to play, even if he has to party by himself. His coat is almost medium length and is very fine/silky compared to average domestic short hairs. The pink button nose and green eyes up his cute factor. He gets along with other cats but is still scared and unsocialized with dogs. Since he can be a little rough when he plays, he would do best with children six+ years of age. He would make a great first time cat or companion to another cat. Mew is also a "ring-tailed" cat! It is a genetic mutation that allows him to move his tail in ways other cats cannot. He can curl his tail into a tiny little ball, curve it backwards, and wrap it around things like a possum. He can also straighten it but mostly chooses to do a soft backwards arch (most cats curve upwards, his is opposite). Mew is neutered, FIV negative, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interest in adopting our current "Fox & Feline Foster," please contact us at [email protected]. His adoption donation is $40 and he will be going to his new home with his favorite Fox and Feline Toys. Mew, Mew is located in Runnemede, NJ which is in South Jersey.

Xylitol is a controversial organic chemical that is used as a sweetener in a variety of human foods. For humans, xylitol can be an alternative sweetener but to our furry companions - it is deadly.
NATIONAL ANIMAL SAFETY MONTH
October is National Animal Safety and Protection month, let's talk about outdoor cat safety! The point of this article is not to get into the indoor vs outdoor debate. It's to offer a DIY solution for a safe way to let your cat have outdoor stimulation while avoiding hazards like - cars, other animals, eating trash or toxins, diseases, etc.. A catio is an outside enclosure that allows your cat to view and interact with the outside world, while not being able to roam. If you haven’t seen a pet stroller, then you haven’t been to many pet friendly places! Many people have pet strollers for a variety of reasons but I have seen people get scoffed or made fun of for pushing fido. Including Gul’Dan! Often times people assume that you are merely trying to make a statement or are looking for special privileges when pet strollers are actually very practical. Don’t think pet strollers are just for small dogs, they make them for dogs of all sizes. So before you judge, read these top reasons why a pet might be in a stroller!
A dog is never, just a dog and a cat is never, just a cat. When a cat or dog in your life passes away, you lose a friend. A friend that doesn’t say much back but understands beyond words what you are feeling. A friend that doesn’t judge when you speak but listens with a loving heart. While it may seem to some that our furry friends reap all the rewards of the friendship because we see to their needs, it is realistically the other way around. The spiritual and emotional factors that a companion animal brings into the life of an individual or family is invaluable. It's a bond that doesn’t have a price or a condition attached and when that bond is broken, it can be difficult to move on.
I've been continuing my exploits of making homemade pet treats. As promised I am posting up the recipe and results for the pet treat liver that we recently made. The liver is going over very well with both the dogs and cats. Warning - it's pretty gross though! I've actually cut out many pictures since I just think it looks so icky. Maybe I'm just a bit squeamish but I made my husband cut it up.
CATIFICATION
Catification in a multi-pet household helps keeps peace and reduces stress. By expanding vertical space for your cat, you create more territory and places for your cat to explore. When you have multiple pets and even species in one house, it allows for new ways for cats to walk around each other to avoid conflict. Finding ways to catify in an attractive and budget friendly way is always my mission! FOX & FELINE FAV
Maybe it hasn't crossed your mind before that the bed Fluffy is laying on could have potential toxins. Playful puppies, active adult dogs and kittens or cats who like to suckle bedding may be ingesting some toxic materials! These toxic chemicals include Triclosan and flame retardants among others that could potentially be in your pet bedding and are a health hazard. Chemicals are commonly used in pet bed foam inserts, covers and even some toys on the market! Last week the pom poms Gul'Dan and Sophie had a weekend get away at Wildwood, NJ with their weiner dog friend Munch. Wildwood beach opened a dog park last year that is open during all seasons for dogs, which is awesome. Most beaches only allow dogs on the beach during specific hours or off season when its not as nice for humans to be on the beach. Adding this one block of dog beach was really smart on wildwood's part, pet friendly people are sure to be attracted to this beach.
Know exactly what it's your dog or cat's treats by making them yourself! In the age of mass produced, recalled and deceptive packaging with pet food and treats, you have to really look at ingredients and the company that is making the item. With all that effort I decided to start making some myself!
This is a super easy treat recipe, although it does require a dehydrator (unless you want your oven running all day!). This treat can be enjoy by dogs and small animals like rats, hamsters, rabbts or gerbils. Since adding the addition of a hamster to our family, I like treats like this that can be for multiple pets.
